Watching paint dry

Whilst I'm happy my canoe build is slowly progressing, painting the hull is not my preferred way to spend a long weekend.  The excitement of watching the hull take shape seems like a distant memory.  I find I am easily distracted with silly, but fun projects.  One of my pet hates is the sound of metal tools rattling around in metal toolboxes, so I decided today was the day make another Japanese style toolbox.  This time, surprisingly, for tools.  Its only some scrap timber glued and screwed but it does the job and it was a break from painting and sanding.

Interesting video from Sven Rosborn's youtube channel.  Worth watching if you're interested in svepask or if you're learning Swedish like me.

Nice deck

Deck varnish came out well.  A nice piece of ply with a feature grain swirl in the middle of the fore deck.
